Abu Dhabi, being the wealthiest emirate in UAE, brings the impression to expats of finding a better life and career opportunity in the city. The fast growing economy of Abu Dhabi relies on its rich oil natural resources. Job Hunting Tips for Visit Visa Holders

  1.While you are still in your home country, make sure your school documents are attested and authenticated by UAE embassy in your country. This is very important and mostly required in processing your working permit especially if you are degree holder. Take note, UAE document authentications are only processed in your home country. Don’t ever attempt to use fake documents. Abu Dhabi immigration and labor department have their system to verify the legitimacy of documents submitted. Some expats were caught, deported and banned for life because of this offense.

  2.Print lots of CV’s before going to Abu Dhabi. Printing and photocopying services in the city is quite expensive at 50fils per page. If you have friends or relatives in Abu Dhabi, ask them to buy you SIM Card so you could place the line number in your CV’s.

  3.Visit Abu Dhabi job hunting websites everyday and start sending CV’s 2 weeks before your flight. Some lucky applicants get there telephone interviews, even luckier, some get hired using this technique though they are not physically present in Abu Dhabi. Continue doing this strategy as soon as you arrive in Abu Dhabi. Remember, you only have 30-90 days to find a job. Time will be running so fast during your job hunting and you’ll be shocked, you visit visa will already expire, just like a snap of a finger. Be productive, don’t waste your time.

  4.For your company visits as walk-in applicant in Abu Dhabi, I recommend you to check the buildings in Hamdan. In building lobbies, you will find all signages of companies having their offices in that building. Next to your list will be Electra, Najda, Tourist Club, Corniche, Khalidiya, Airport Road, Muroor Road, Defence Road and their respective neighboring areas.

  5.Lastly, if you’re main purpose in going to Abu Dhabi is to search for a job, avoid the month of Ramadan, and the month before Ramadan. Companies seldom hire employees during this holy month. Office hours during Ramadan is only 6 hours. You will be mostly in the streets while you are hunting for a job so the best months you could go to Abu Dhabi is during the months of September to March where the climate is moderate to cold.Good Luck on your Job hunting and always have a positive attitude and perspective.
